On Saturday August 11th, 2018, the 2018 Beach Clean up event was held by the community and the Vertical Knits team in the beach boardwalk of Telchac Puerto, Yucatan. As a result, 1.5 metric tons of litter were collected in the effort. During the event, our team of engineers organized the activity “Health and Safety Exatlon”, where four teams composed of five people participated. The activity consisted of two circuits with four challenging obstacles, and had like goal at the physical activation of the participants. The winning team received a coupon to redeem at a restaurant located in the community.

Nowadays, controlling the waste generation problem in our beaches is a real challenge, that is why Vertical Knits looks to motivate the community and the employees making themselves responsible and a habit to recycle and collect their waste.
